The International Belgrade Book Fair is one of the oldest and the most important literary events in the region, with the main goal of helping publishers, authors, booksellers, librarians, book distributors, multimedia companies, and other people in the business establish contacts, exchange experiences, make business deals, and start other forms of business and cultural cooperation. All Serbian and the most prominent regional publishers choose to present their annual publishing work each year at the Fair.
Book presentations are accompanied by numerous side events, such as conferences, round table discussions, guest author presentations, panel discussions, workshops, etc.
This presents a unique opportunity for all book lovers to browse books that may interest them at one place, and buy them at special prices at that. Many of them may also want to meet their favorite authors, or maybe discover great new writers by attending some of the Fair’s many programs and activities.
The Book Fair is the most visited cultural event in Serbia: The 2022 Fair attracted as much as 163,616 visitors. Media coverage of the event is nothing short of impressive. According to the organiser, the 2022 Fair was covered by 1200 accredited journalists.
According to a research conducted in 2010 among Belgrade citizens by Strategic Marketing, the Book Fair was chosen as the largest brand of Belgrade.
The founder of the Belgrade Book Fair is the City of Belgrade. This event is managed by the Book Fair Council, while the Executive Organiser is the Belgrade Fair. The Fair is traditionally held in October, at Halls 1, 1A, 2, and 4 of the Belgrade Fair. The exhibition area takes some 30,000 square meters. The Book Fair is a eight-day event.
